We are committed to loving our neighbors in Colorado Springs; by preventing homelessness, helping people out of poverty, and more. We provide most of the services on this page on a daily or weekly basis. For our seasonal programs see our seasonal services page. Mercy’s Gate serves our neighbors in the following ZIP codes: 80907, 08, 09, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 27, 38, 51 with rent, Project COPE, EOC, food, medical needs, legal advice, and clothing. Mercy’s Gate serves all El Paso County with non-CSU utilities, and VITA tax return preparation.
Spiritual, Medical, and Other Assistance
Prayer is at the heart of everything we do at Mercy’s Gate, because all healing starts with prayer. We would love to pray for you!
For legal, nurse, clothing vouchers, or non-CSU utilities appointments, please call 719-277-7470, during our normal hours. Contact us.
Financial help is provided through rent, utility, clothing, prescription assistance, medical co-pays, and financial advice (including free budget classes). While we are eager to help everyone who comes to us each day, we may not always be able to provide financial assistance to everyone. Prayer and referrals are available to anyone who asks.
Please call our main number, 719-277-7470, to schedule an appointment for the following:
Bring your current lease and picture ID. You must be in our serviced zip codes, current on rent, and have not received assistance from us for rent within the last 12 months.
For Colorado Springs Utilities* assistance, please bring your past due and/or red disconnect notice and a current ID.*
If you have received COPE assistance from any agency other than LEAP in the last 12 months, you must return to that agency for assistance. Please contact us if you have questions.
Faith Community Nurse*
A registered nurse is available to assess health care needs, provide prescription assistance, and to link our clients with community resources. Call during our open hours to make an appointment.
We have volunteer neighbor advocate financial counselors available during open hours for budgeting help.
Families receive a four day emergency supply of food up to six times each year. Available during all open hours: Monday 4-7 pm, Wednesday 9-noon, Thursday 9-noon & 1-4 pm. You do not need to arrive early but arriving later in the shift may mean an emergency box of food (no choices) instead of visiting the food pantry. (Click here for how to donate food.)
*These services are only available to neighbors residing within the ZIP codes we serve. See zip codes above to check if you qualify.
